Wet Metal Dust Collectors
What is wet dust collecting?
Unlike dry dust collection, when dust can become combustible, wet dust collectors are often used. This is especially true for dry metal dust, which highly flammable, and is likely to go up in flames if it comes into any contact with sparks. Dry collection machines can also be used in this application as well, but if there is a risk of deflagration, the system should include safety devices. This includes spark traps and fire-retardant filters that will not fuel a fire.
Wet dust collecting can substantially decrease the risk of fire or explosion. Water “scrubs” the air traveling through the collector, mixing with dust and forming sludge. This ensures that even if there is an ignition source, there’s no dust cloud or dry dust to ignite. Wet machines use a variety of technologies to drive dust through a water stream, which then forces the dust to the bottom of tank, where it is separated by gravity and the dust can be removed into a storage container. Wet dust collection is very efficient, and can capture very small dust particles.

NIAGARA Wet Dust Collectors
Standard features include a stainless steel mainframe for durability and extended life. The impeller is precision-balanced and coupled to the motor; this allows for an optimal amount of flow and with little vibration. Internal baffles are designed to drive contaminated air through a water bath to wet and bind the metal particles together.
Series PWDC - Portable Wet Dust Collector
This is the first portable dust collection system by Timesavers. Each of these cost-effective collectors utilize water to filter the dust from the air. Water is used to bind the metal particles in the tank, while clean air is exhausted from the unit. The portable wet dust collector can be easily cleaned by removing the lid from the top and the separator from inside the tank, and the barrel can be turned over to empty both the water and the swarf.
